Housekeeping: If you have to upload an image more than once please delete the one you’re not going to use.

Images

It’s important to tag images correctly, for accessibility (a legal requirement) , and also for Google.

When uploading or adding a new image anywhere on the site, it’s important to add the title tag and the alt text. There are fields for both, every time you upload an image, or edit it on the screen.

Title is the wording that you see when you hover your mouse over the image, for eg “Our Summer Holiday tennis classes“. Alt is what the screen reader will “say” if someone with visual impairment is browsing the website, so they know what’s there, for eg “3 people playing tennis“.
*Title and Alt can often be the same.

WHAT’S ON: Art Classes

  1. First: Add title and description.
    The first line of the body will be bolded automatically, you don’t have to do it.
  2. Second: add feature image – if you’re not able to access or upload an image minimum 730px across please refer it over to Tim.
  3. Third: assign tags/types:
    • As well as “What’s On” please assign either “Classes for Adults” or “Classes for Kids” – in some rare cases both my apply too.
    • Never add your own tags.
    • Never assign other tags to classes.
  4. Scroll down the page and add a one-sentence excerpt
  5. When all these elements are in place, you’re ready to publish.

WHAT’S ON: Community Events / Activites

Past Events

To change an event to a past event, simply add a year tag to it: 2018, 2019, whatever year it happened. Also delete the Adults / Kids tags.

If you don’t want the event archived on the site just delete it when it’s over.

New Artists
