Christina Bakker is a contemporary arts practitioner in her final year of a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Visual Arts) at the Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane.

Working predominantly across sculpture, installation, performative video and mural painting, she makes site-specific works that respond to location.

With a strong focus on resourcefulness, Christina often uses recycled materials of a household or industrial nature, especially ones that can be highly sculpted and textured to suggest age and weight. She also works in bronze and ceramics and enjoys experimenting with new materials.

Christina’s work often involves fictional narratives, censure, feminism and the exploration of inner emotional states of being.
