Kids do Art offers a variety of programs throughout the week to provide children with opportunities to develop their own skills, expand their creativity, and to make new friends.  Every Kids Do Art program offers something different to suit your child.

Our children’s Visual Arts course is designed to suit all abilities. The activities are age appropriate, fun and informative lessons that will stretch our creativity and learning of new skills. Tutor and participants get to share a creative space in which the artists, art works and the themes chosen for the term will suit the group’s dynamic. This course focuses on the development of participants’ knowledge and practical skills without formal assessment.

Visual Arts will look to approach big icons across different art movements, such as Picasso and Keith Haring, and meet the group’s needs by looking at the history of art and how it can be applied to develop ideas.

Activities will include painting with acrylics, pastels and water colours to develop an understanding of colour utilisation and different mediums. Collage will also be explored, this being fundamental for visual composition, and the program contains drawing as a constant activity.  Drawing is key to enabling participants to express art references that are introduced each class session and further explore the possibility of their own creations. Participants can keep all their creations, as it’s a great way to register progress, but the main thing taken out of the workshop is the experience, research, interpretation, in order to develop a trained eye and handcraft as one, so that students can continue to develop their skills with these processes at home.
